EXTENDING THE WHARF OF NAM DINH VU PORT CLUSTER TO NEARLY 1 KM, WELCOMING 3 SHIPS AT THE SAME TIME.

Nam Dinh Vu port cluster has just inaugurated phase 2, improving the capacity to receive ships, able to receive 3 ships at the same time.

On May 24, Nam Dinh Vu port cluster in Hai Phong officially opened the second phase, put into operation and exploitation with an area of 42 hectares in two phases, a berth length of 880m and a capacity of 1.2 million TEU/ Year, can receive 3 cargo ships at the same time.

The port is built and invested synchronously in terms of infrastructure, equipment and technology according to international, modern and environmentally friendly standards.

After completing phase 2, Nam Dinh Vu port cluster can receive 3 cargo ships at the same time.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Do Cong Khanh - Deputy General Director of Gemadept Joint Stock Company affirmed that Nam Dinh Vu port cluster owns a convenient location, is a commercial transport hub, located at the mouth of Bach Dang river with high draft with deep water and wide turning basin, is also the closest gateway to the sea compared to other ports in the region.

After phase 2, phase 3 will be promoted to prepare to turn the port cluster into the largest and largest river port in Dinh Vu (Hai Phong) that can accommodate feeder ships, intra-Asian ships. The largest in the river port area and can receive 4 ships at the same time.

It is expected that phase 3 will be put into operation in 2025. This is to implement the plan to continue to invest, improve the capacity of the port and logistics ecosystem to meet market demand.

“The area of the whole port cluster is 65ha, the total design capacity of the three phases is 2 million TEU/Year. The port cluster will own 7 berths, up to 1.5 km long and capable of receiving container ships of up to 48,000DWT. When completing the investment in all three phases, Nam Dinh Vu port cluster will maximize its advantages and bring outstanding values to customers, "said Mr. Khanh.

Nam Dinh Vu port cluster is a key port in the North in the integrated port and logistics ecosystem of Gemadept Joint Stock Company. The port is located in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park - the most important domestic and international commercial freight transport hub of the whole North.
